Once I had been made aware of
the first-year look of an Evening-primrose
I discovered they had been there all along
with the Forgetmenot in the hole by the entrance
and along the wall.
Meanwhile
the roses from July have been dug up
in preparation for the advancing construction zone
and for a brief couple of days
- after they tore down the hedges around
old overgrown patios
but before today's levelling -
you could see where the mother plant had been hidden
smothered in a thistle.
