Common Wintercress, Göteborg, March 29th, 2002
Barbarea vulgaris 
Sommargyllen i januari, i maj, i juni och i november
I won't say that I confuse the wintercresses
but I must say that all I see is the common one
even though I look for the proportions of the small-flowered one
with its large top lobe and very small side lobes.
The two leaves (one is scanned back and front)
are those that I nipped off when Erik pointed out the stricta for me
last Saturday - I have been conscientiously looking today, in vain.
We had the Storm of the Year just a couple of days after they had plonked a cluster of cypresses into the ground here. Now, after a month they've finally been braced up to the vertical again. |
