Tuberous Comfrey, Göteborg, May 1st 2002

the garden escape by the manhole cover
turned out to be no primrose
but a yellow comfrey
damaged (by trampling?) since april
and barely visible among the creeping buttercups
(and flattened papercups)

if this is the standard mode of life of an escaped comfrey
it doesn't surprise me that they're rare
