Reed Canary-grass, Göteborg, Feb 6th, 2001

Phalaris arundinacea
Rörflen i juni, i augusti och i november

Eva Ekeblad, 2001

Questioned by Erik in June and thinking about it since then
I have now convinced myself that I was wrong
in identifying these curls from the whig of a blonde troll
as Common Reed:
while the Reedy Canary-grass tends to curl and to last
(here cut down to size in the shallow ditch)
the Real Reed tends to write music with hectically fast notes (256ths?)
to curl lengthwise
and to be broken off and vanish.
